Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day

In recognition of the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day today, Smith Partnership donated a batch of cup cakes to care homes and memory cafes across the county. Kingswood Lodge Care Home in Wigston and Aaron Court Care Home in Netherhall were chosen for the outstanding care that has been witnessed during legal visits to residents.

A batch of cupcakes were also delivered to the memory café in Loughborough held at John Storer House where there is a regular social gathering for people living with dementia, carers and family. These sessions are run by the Alzheimer’s Society, and are run at different times and dates across the city, as part of their ongoing initiatives for raising social awareness for people living with Dementia in the community.

Lisa Franklin, Private Client Lawyer in the Wills and Probate department at our Leicester branch said 'It is hugely rewarding to be able to recognise the work of those caring for our local elderly community, as well as to be able to promote another fantastic initiative for the Alzheimer’s Society. It has also been fabulous to see the effort that has gone in to the baking of cupcakes at the cupcake sales at these venues.'

Smith Partnership continues to be committed to this worthy cause and both Lisa and Head of department, Darren Perry (who also encourages the wider community in his capacity as a Dementia Friend Champion), recently held Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends Training sessions at our Derby and Leicester offices to staff members throughout the firm.
