Partner Jason Wood acted on behalf of Sterigenics UK Limited in relation to the purchase of land from Henry Boot Developments Limited. Sterigenics is part of the Sotera Health Company and is the leading global provider of mission critical sterilisation solutions.
The purpose of this purchase was to enable Sterigenics UK Limited to instruct Henry Boot Developments Limited by way of a Development Agreement to construct a bespoke factory with a value of £10 million.
The new facility at Markham Vale North in Chesterfield, Derbyshire included the installation of a state of the art Nordion JS 10000 Gamma Irradiator. The 60,000 square foot facility provides gamma sterilisation capabilities, and Sterigenics UK Limited deal with the sterilisation requirements of many NHS trusts.
The legal transaction involved complex negotiations in relation to the Development Agreement as well as security documentation, taking into account the security required by Henry Boot Developments Limited who, under the Development Agreement, were funding the construction.
Jason was able to call on two specialist legal consultants – Graeme Roberts in relation to the construction documentation and Ashley Alton in relation to the security documents – who offered invaluable expertise in completing the matter.
