An opportunity has become available at our Longton Office in Stoke-on-Trent, for a full time Solicitor/ Legal Executive/ Licenced Conveyancer working within our Conveyancing Department.

Purpose & Objective of Job:

  • Fee Earning activities relating to Conveyancing matters
  • To promote the image of the Firm at all times as a professional, effective and efficient provider of legal services

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:

CLIENT LIAISON

  • Attending and advising clients in relating to Conveyancing matters, such as sales, purchases – freehold and leasehold, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, shared ownership, new builds, including: -
  • Taking instructions
  • Drafting/Reviewing Contracts
  • Reviewing title and search results
  • Reporting to Clients
  • Liaising  with other Solicitors, Building Societies, Estate Agents, Financial Advisors, Banks, etc
  • Attendance on clients in person and by telephone
  • Exchange of Contracts
  • Completion
  • Post Completion Work
  • Land Registration
  • Dealing with all Financial matters in connection with the above.
  • At all times complying with the requirements of Conveyancing Quality Scheme

GENERAL OFFICE PROCEDURES/SUPERVISION

  • Opening and Closing Files
  • Compliance including AML/ID and Due Diligence
  • File Maintenance
  • LMS and Lender Exchange
  • Minerva Onboarding
  • Infotrack
  • Monitoring ledgers and liasing with the Accounts department regarding outstanding amounts
  • Supervision of secretarial staff/monitoring of workloads

Experience Required:

  • 2 years PQE of conveyancing experience/Legal Executive experience
  • Solicitor
  • Licenced Conveyancer
  • Requiring Minimal Supervision
  • Ability and involvement with business development

Knowledge Required:

  • Current knowledge of conveyancing legislation

Skills And Personal Attributes Required:

  • Capable of working autonomously

Qualifications Required:

  • CILEX qualified
  • Qualified as a Solicitor
  • Licenced Conveyancer
