Probate Court fees: snakes and one ladder

Smith Partnership considers the impact of the proposed increase in the Probate fee regime.

You may have heard that the government has resurrected its plan to introduce a sharp increase in Probate Court fees. When the idea was last proposed in 2016 the intended increase was substantial and the government eventually bowed to sustained pressure to withdraw its plans.

Unfortunately, we now find ourselves facing another attempt to increase the fee and, whilst the fee-hike is lower than previously proposed, the increases are still extraordinary.

Bags of joy at RSPCA

The team at Smith Partnership were honoured to have recently visited the RSPCA, which is the oldest welfare charity around on Abbey Street, Derby hand delivering over 100 bags of donated items for their newly opened charity shops.

RSPCA was chosen as the official charity for Smith Partnership in January 2018, with its employees taking part in a number of fundraising activities, such as quiz nights, bake sales and pumpkin carving completions; having collectively raised over £1,000 so far!
