Lesley Wilson

What I do

I started working for Smith Partnership as a Secretary in 1992 working in various departments within the firm and gained much valued experience along the way. I specialise in Wills, all Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection matters, estate administration and managing clients' financial affairs on their behalf as an Attorney.

Prior to starting work with the firm I had spent six years living and working in New Zealand and obtained my Legal Executive Certificate. In 2001, after being with the firm for nine years, and when my children were older, I decided to put my Legal Executive training to good use and became a fee earner with the firm working initially in the Civil Litigation department and subsequently in the Wills and Inheritance department where I continue to practice.

I enjoy meeting clients from all walks of life and, as a private client adviser, I act on behalf of many clients managing their financial affairs under attorneyships or case managing deputyships, administering estates, preparing Wills and all types of Power of Attorney documents.

I have long been involved with Age UK and established a monthly surgery at their Derby office where people can make appointments to speak with one of our team regarding their legal issues on a no-obligation basis.

Outside of work I love to spend time with my family.

Impartial  advice is a valuable aid to decision making. The implications of such advice in estate planning are important, not just now but in an enduring way. The advice and documentation provided by Lesley was excellent.
