Smith Partnership took part in Free Wills Month
Throughout the month of October, Smith Partnership took part in Free Wills Month; A legacy fundraising campaign where members of the public aged 55 and over can contact a solicitor to draw up a simple Will for free. A group of national charities come together and pay for a limited number of Wills to be written, in exchange for a gift to one or more of the participating charities.
Both our Derby and Leicester branch participated in Free Wills Month, where each office managed to fill all their twenty slots. The process begins once an individual, or a couple intending to use the same solicitor, registers on the Free Wills Month website during the designated month and requests an appointment.
Then, the solicitor helps draw up a simple Will that accurately reflects the individual or couple’s wishes. These appointments are limited and are allocated on a first come first serve basis every year.
The firm is proud to support Free Wills Month and the charities behind it. Their vital services protect and enrich the lives of thousands of people and by obtaining a free up-to-date Will through this campaign, individuals can avoid difficult decisions and legal complications for their loved ones down the line. This is why leaving a gift to these charities can make a massive difference, as well as continue the running of the Free Wills Month campaign.
Thank you to our Michael, Emma, Grace, Rashifa and Kalvin who took part and represented Smith Partnership’s Private Client team this October. Free Wills Month campaign highlights the importance of creating or updating a Will whilst supporting a great cause.
