Investing in rising talent as promotions are made across the board
Smith Partnership has underlined its investment in talented staff with a host of promotions. Six Lawyers working in a range of departments are taking the next step in their careers.
Key among them is the promotion of Adele Woods, working in the Family department and has made the step up to Partner.
Adele has worked in Family Law since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2009. Her work includes dealing with complex and challenging disputes relating to divorce, children, forced marriage and domestic abuse.
She said: “It’s really exciting to have been promoted to Partner. It’s a reflection that the firm appreciate my contribution to the Partnership.
“I have worked at Smith Partnership since 2005 and much has changed in that time, both in the way we approach Family Law and, in the firm which has been transformed from a High Street law practice to one of the leading firms in the East Midlands.”
Also taking the next step in their careers are Ruth Ball, who heads up our Business and Personal Insolvency department and has been promoted to Senior Associate, alongside Gemma Gallimore, who works in the Company and Commercial team.
Three Solicitors have also been promoted to Associates, including Amelia Harrison, who also works in the Family law team, and Justine Dexter, who works in Smith Partnership’s Crime department.
She said: “Becoming an Associate is recognition of the work I’ve done over the years in what is a very busy and fast-paced area of the law.
“Smith Partnership is unusual in that it operates a Crime department alongside the full range of legal provision. It’s a good firm to work for and we have a good team.”
Justine’s colleague in the Crime department, Nick Wenden, has also been promoted to Associate, having joined Smith Partnership in 2008 as a Legal Clerk and qualified as a Solicitor in 2013.
Kevin McGrath, Managing Partner, said: “It’s always exciting to see our staff taking the next steps in their careers and everyone offers their sincere congratulations.
“We pride ourselves on being a full-service law firm and it’s gratifying to see so many departments reflected in these promotions. It shows how much talent we have across the firm, and bodes well for the future of Smith Partnership.”
