We’ve wished a happy retirement to six valued team members

Smith Partnership wishes a happy and healthy retirement to six valued team members as they officially bring their long-serving careers with the firm to a close. With more than 160 years of combined service between them, we bid farewell to David Clark, Martin Bradbury, Tim Jackson, Julie Tomasik, Andrew Hambleton and Virginia Dean. The firm celebrates their dedication and professionalism, and thanks them for their outstanding service to both clients and colleagues.

Each of them has played a significant role in shaping the firm’s success over the years, bringing with them decades of expertise and experience.

David Clark and Martin Bradbury, Partners, have each been with the firm for more than 30 years. During that time, they have provided exceptional care and support to both clients and colleagues in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Department.

Similarly, Tim Jackson and Julie Tomasik, Associates in our Conveyancing department, are recognised as devoted and hard-working colleagues. Tim has dedicated years of his career to the firm, and while Julie joined Smith Partnership four years ago, her impact was considerable, and while in the firm’s employment, she celebrated her 50th year in the profession. This remarkable milestone was recognised at the Derby and District Law Society Awards in 2025 where Julie proudly received the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award.  Both have provided exceptional service to the firm’s conveyancing clients.

Paralegals, Andrew Hambleton, in Debt Recovery, and Virginia Dean, in Personal Injury, are also retiring after many years of providing high-quality work and valued support within their respective departments.

Managing Partner, James Johnson, expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation on behalf of the firm:

“Each of our retiring colleagues has had an enduring impact on Smith Partnership, our clients, and on their fellow colleagues. Their commitment to excellence and dedication to building the reputation of our firm have been instrumental in our continued growth and success. We are truly grateful for all they have contributed over the years and, although we are sad to see them go, we wish them every happiness in the years ahead.’’
