Smith Partnership celebrates New Years with nine promotions

We are excited to announce that nine of our Associates have been promoted to Senior Associates. Each member of staff has made outstanding contributions to the firm, and we are delighted to be able to release our January advancements. 

Eleanor Derry, who works in our Burton Childcare department, was amongst those who were promoted. She explains what this means to her “I am very pleased to have been promoted and recognised for my contribution to the Firm.  Smith Partnership have supported me throughout my legal career for the best part of a decade.  I am looking forward to strengthening the services that I can offer within the firm”

Alongside Eleanor, Claire Morrey, who also works in our Childcare team, at our Stoke branch in Hanley, has too advanced to Senior Associate this year. 

Newley promoted, Shameela Chopdat, who works in our Leicester Family department, talks about her time at the firm “I have only been with Smiths for 2 years, and in this time, I have advanced from Solicitor to Senior Associate. I feel grateful to be able to progress my career and am excited to embark on this new chapter.”

Amelia Harrison, who works alongside Shameela in our Derby Family team, is also taking the next step in her career, along with Victoria Townsend, who heads up the firms Contentious Trusts and Probate department.

Three Associates in our Criminal Law practice have also been promoted, including Beth McGovernJustine Dexter and Vasanti Vaitha.

Finally, Liam Kreibich who heads up our Landlord and Tenant department, is taking his next step after being with the firm since 2016, initially working in the Legal Aid sector for eight years. 

He talks about his new role “I am thrilled to have been promoted to Senior Associate, not only is it a recognition of the hard work that I have put in over the years, but it gives me the opportunity to further give back to the firm in a different capacity.”
