Derby team raises over £600 for Air Ambulance and RSPCA

Our Head Office in Derby has raised £620.40 for The Air Ambulance Service and the RSPCA, following a year of coordinated fundraising activity led by dedicated ‘charity champions’.

The total was achieved through a range of initiatives, including raffles, bake sales, the firm’s annual quiz and much more, providing a great way for the team to come together and contribute throughout the year.

Fundraising was led by Sophie Shapcott, Yasmin Russell, Nicole Saroglou, Ella Davis, Zoe Harrington and Martina Singh - who organised events and encouraged engagement across the wider team.

In addition to office-based initiatives, colleagues also supported a number of individual and community-led activities. These included participation in Movember by John Ellis and Oliver Maxwell, volunteering at YMCA and DCCT Community Meals, taking part in the Derby 10km, and contributing to a range of further charitable efforts.

Sophie Shapcott, Marketing Manager and one of the Derby charity champions, commented: "This has been one of our most successful years for fundraising, and that really comes down to the collective effort across the office. What has stood out to me is the dedication of the charity champions, the team approach every event with such passion and enthusiasm, and really care about the causes we support."

"Because our charity of the year is chosen by the staff, there is a genuine connection to the causes we are supporting. That makes a real difference in driving engagement and creating a positive, shared focus across the office."

Penny Lockwood, Branch Manager at RSPCA Derby added: "We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Smith Partnership. They have supported us over a number of years, and it is always encouraging to see teams not only raise funds but actively engage with the cause. Donations like this directly support the care, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals, and we value the ongoing relationship we have built together.”

Shonagh Groves, Community Fundraising Executive at The  Air Ambulance Service commented: "Every donation we receive plays a part in helping us respond quickly in critical situations, where every second counts. The support from Smith Partnership contributes directly to our ability to deliver emergency medical care across the region, and we are very thankful for their commitment to supporting our service."

Following a successful year of fund raising, our Derby office is looking to build on this momentum, with plans to continue supporting charitable initiatives that benefit both local communities and causes important to colleagues, with our charity of the year for 2026 being the Nightingale Macmillan Unit.
